These are mussel streams and rivers updated in July 2024 and based on National Hydrography Dataset Plus High Resolution (NHDPlus HR) stream segments. <\/SPAN><\/P>

Mussel attributes include StreamGroup and Description:<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 1: High Quality Streams (as listed by the WVDNR and having potential habitat for mussels) and state mussel streams. Endangered species not expected.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 2: Small to mid-sized streams with endangered species expected.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 2: Critical Habitat: Small to mid-sized streams with US Fish and Wildlife Service designated critical habitat.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 2.5: Typically small streams that join either a Group 2 or Group 4 stream that may potentially contain endangered species; thus the lower half mile of the stream is considered a Group 2.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 2P: Small to mid-sized streams with species proposed for listing by US Fish and Wildlife Service.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 3: Large rivers where endangered species are not expected. These include the Ohio River upstream of Hannibal Lock and Dam and the Monongahela River.<\/SPAN><\/P>

<\/P>

Group 4: Large rivers where endangered species are expected. These include the Ohio River downstream of Hannibal Lock and Dam, Little Kanawha River (slack-water section adjoining the Ohio River), and the Kanawha River.<\/SPAN><\/P>

Group 4: Critical Habitat: Small to mid-sized streams with US Fish and Wildlife Service designated critical habitat.<\/SPAN><\/P>

These data are based on the National Hydrography Dataset Plus High Resolution (NHDPlus HR) dataset.
