However, 8 communities (Wheeling, Weirton, Paden City, Montgomery, Smithers, Huntington, Nitro and Alderson) are split between two counties. For risk analysis projects, these incorporated areas have been split along county boundaries. As a result of the split there are 240 incorporated area polygons and 55 unincorporated area polygons.
